Good morning all
Sorry for the delay in coming to you with the match reports.
On Sunday 17th July 2022, we welcomed Gestingthorpe to the Heath.
We played 32 over match and Dan Common was elected as the new skipper for the day.
Dan won the toss and we were asked to bat first.
It was the usual pairing of Tris and Logan with Weavers ready in at 3.
Quick 10 over session saw Tris and Logey put on 64 before Tris was bowled on 38.
Weavers and Logan then enjoyed a 117 partnership. Logey doing his best to get caught out but to no
avail on 7 occasions. They did finally catch him and he departed for 86 runs.
Wellsy joined Weavers after 3 not outs on tour. He made a quick fire 25 before being caught. Weavers
departed for 43 after being bowled.
Minndo in at 5 with a quick cameo with 7 runs and Skipper Dan finished 11 not out.
I came in at 7 and was out for 8 after being caught out after skying one - one of the only catches they
held! Jeppo with a quickfire 5 runs before being bowled and Chowny joined finishing 1 not out.
Target was set - 255
After a lovely tea, all too full, we went into the blazing heat to field.
The opening bowlers of Cal and Jeppo kept it very tight and then starting ripping through the batsmen.
Cal took 4 for 27 off 7, Jeppo 3 for 36 off 6. Great start and they were 46 for 7.
Chowny and Superted saw in the rest. Teddy rolling back the years and finding his form again but no
wickets today. Chowny was the wicket take taking 3 for 7 off 4.
We demolished them and had them all out for 72 runs.
Some mentions in the field. Tris with 2 great catches - one slapped at him very quickly and Wellsy
taking a one handed catch low down after confusion whose it was.
Good win and great team performance. Captain Dan off to a flyer
