LCC TOUR - KENT - Match report - day 3

25 Jul 2022

Sunday 10th July 2022 - Away - Limpsfield Chart

After a cooked breakfast, few dunks in the pool, sauna, shower and a pint in the bar, we were on our

way to the pre-match pub to start it all again.

We arrived at the new levelled out field. Logey was skipper for the day.

We were elected to field first.

Jeppo and Cal were the openers and both had a 5 over spell

Jeppo 1 for 17, Cal 1 for 21

Superted came on with another tight spell 8 overs, 1 for 18 with 3 maidens

Common had a brief 2 over spell 0 for 15.

Wellsy came on for his first spell in a few games. 1 for 41 off 8 overs.

Logan and I both saw the 35 overs out

Logan 1 for 29 off 5 overs.

I was given 2 overs - 1st one also went for 12 runs, 2nd one - 13 runs. Finished tour bowling

4 overs, 0 for 49. I've decided i'm a batter........

Target was set - 172 runs from 35 runs.

After tea and most of us very glad that the 3 days are slowly coming to an end, we went to bat

Tris and Logey opened both having a quick start and utilising the quick outfield.

Tris was bowled for 36, Logey was caught out on 48 runs.

Weavers and Minndo were the next 2 in. Weavers departed for 34 runs (no sixes) and Minndo

being caught out for 14 runs.

Wellsy and Common were in the middle before Dan was stumped for 1. I came in, apparently looked

scared of each ball but we we finished the game with a huge 6. Wellsy 25 not out and not out for the

whole tour, boosting his chances of batter of the year! I finished with a sold 2 not out - 2 towards

proving im a batter, not a bowler!

We chased the target down in 24 overs and another win. The 2 team games played were both

Victorius.

After a 4.5hour delay on the M25, the tour was done and all felt a little broken.

A week to recover before we played Gestingthorpe at home........next match report to follow

Thanks

Dave
