Saturday 9th July 2022 - Away - Bethersden
After a cooked breakfast, few dunks in the pool, sauna, shower and a pint in the bar, we were on our
way to the pre-match pub to start it all again.
Pig & Sty was the venue and lovely food and drink, was a great find.
We arrived at the ground and due to numbers we were asked to mix the teams up. This set up a few
battles out in the middle with bat and ball in the 20/20 match
All stats will go to averages but the team with Wellsy in won.
Few highlights and lowlights!
Common took the wickets of Jeppo and Logan - with a great catch from myself, running in a mile from
the hottest boundary to juggle 4 times and hold.
Weavers had a spell of bowling and took 2 wickets - One of which was his room mate Minndo and
Tris caught him out on 49..........was this 50 to come this year.....
Wellsy got 51 with some big sixes (not the biggest of the day) and then retired
I bowled my 2nd over of tour - another 0-12 off 1 over.........something not right here...
His team got 152 runs
Dan Common opened and got 31 before being caught out by Chown from one of their bowlers.
I came in 4th and hit 'the biggest' 6 of the day.....unofficially measured at 132m.
I fell soon after as Jeppo came on to bowl and swung at straight one. This was his 2nd wicket.
His 3rd was to come - getting Tris for 3 (after having just woken up as he was sound asleep for most
of the time!) Queue the celebration of running around the ground.

We got to 126 but fell short within the overs.
Apart from having the neighbouring farmer cut his field during the game (due to ongoing dispute)
We had a good afternoon, before heading back to the Pig & Sty for few social drinks.
We went back to freshen up before heading into town, for more drinks, dancing, banter before 2am
Finish.
