LCC FANTASY 2021 - WEEK 20 UPDATE

01 Sep 2021

Good Morning all

On Sunday we visited Sudbury, looking to win our first game there for some time.
Unfortunately, we came up short against a strong Sudbury line up.
Jeppo took the reigns for the game and a short lived spell but he enjoyed his chance.

The scores and tables are attached. Harris and Jeppo have retaken the lead at top the table.
Cal and Chown are close behind!
Bev still tops the players table and didn't even play! I am chasing him down for the top spot!

Summary of the game.

After a pre-match drink in the White Horse, we arrived at the ground on an overcast,
chilly Sunday.
Sudbury were to bat first. They had a good opening female batsman who held her end
to get her 51.
Jeppo took the first wicket in his 2nd over with a catch from Chowny.
We were then in to watch everyone get hit around a bit by Kenny of Sudbury who
got a very quick
106 runs before Chowny bowled and gave a 'memorable' catch to Weavers behind.
I was at the other end to Chowny and although bowling a lot down legside, it kept the
run rate down.
I took 3 wickets - 1 bowled and then a catch behind for Weavers and Dave Collard
holding the other.
After 40 overs, Sudbury finished 266 for 5.

After a quick teabreak, Tris and Weavers went to the middle to start the chase.
Another couple of quicker bowlers and Tris took some more body shots.
Another solid knock from Tris with 45 runs before getting caught and
weavers departed with 16 runs after being bowled.
KP and Collard were the next 2 in. Quickfire 9 from KP but Collard was there for a
good stint with 32 runs.
The chase was on. We are for a good run rate.
Minndo came in and was caught for 13 runs.
I came in an took a liking to their left arm bowler and hit him for 14 in an over.
I eventually departed for 31 runs after getting caught on boundary for another 6.
Sudbury's Halliday cleaned up the rest of the wickets too.
Jeppo came in for a quick 4 runs before playing on to his stumps.
Logan - injured - but came in to hit a 4 and a 6 and remained not out.
Chown and Cal came in and both departed for ducks (not Golden!)
We were all out for 171 runs - again with 10 players due to Wellsy being unwell.

Another good effort from the boys and this week we return to home of LCC
for our penultimate game against Long Melford.

Team and new skipper will be sent out over the course of this week.

See you Saturday
