Good morning all.
We hosted Twinstead at Home on Saturday in the sunshine and another win for the
This was Weavers first game as match day Captain and will hold the reigns into Sunday
against Nacton at Home.
The scores and table are attached. Cal and Chown still lead but gap is narrowing.
Bev is still leading the players scoring table after another contribution with the Bat.
Please note, double points are being tallied but will not be added until the annual dinner.
Summary of the game
A very hot day and Weavers discussed with the opposition and elected to Bat.
The ground looked lovely and we were all set to watch get his double ton he promised.
With not enough alcohol in his system, it was a short lived innings of 10 runs.
Weavers fell for the same amount of runs
Bev came out and steadied the ship and fell for 88 and literally fell over back at pavilion
after losing his body weight in sweat.
KP contributed with 25 runs
I came in, should have been out caught 3 times but eventually fell for 15 runs by the only
ball that didn't bounce
Common with 5 runs, Jeppo came out and hit a quickfire 10 and Superted finished
3 not out.
We had 3 ducks in the game and one was a Golden for Cal.
Wellsy's was a bizarre runout and caught on camera.
We were all out for 180.
We went to field and made light work of the day. Only one batsman fancied having a go
and injured his shoulder hitting Common for 6.
We got them for 69 runs according to the book
Jeppo, Chown and Skinner all with 2 wickets
Waugh, Superted and me with a wicket each.
3 catches - Weavers with a great take behind the stumps, Tris and KP with 1 each -
both taken after a 'misunderstanding' in the field when one was 'dropped'
I am not playing this weekend but will receive the scorebook and update the points
and sheets. I will return for match report and scoring the week after.
Have a good week and bring another win boys.
