How many runs then?
As part of our fund raising and to keep a bit of cricket interest going in the next few months, we are starting to run a new Ashes Sweepstake which is a bit different to last time.
The next Ashes series starts on 21st November and finishes on 3rd January 2014. That is 5 tests with a possible 10 innings. So this time who fancies a stab at guessing the total runs scored by any batsman (Australian or English) by the end of the series. Forget the name of the batsman - it's the total runs he scores that you are guessing!
It's just £2 per entry or 3 for £5 with a Prize to the winner of £50! Winner will be announced on the club website on 10th January 2014. Just pick the total number of runs you think the leading batsman will have scored over the 5 tests. There is no minimum or maximum number with the closest number winning it, and in the event of a tie a correct entry will be drawn out of a hat.

Alternatively, give your entry (or entries!) to a player, or for those coming to the Dinner we shall be collecting entries on the night !
