Good morning all
On Sunday we returned to Leavenheath for our first home game of the season and welcomed Chappel and Wakes Colne.
Another successful day on the field and with the bat and win number 2 out of 2 in the bag.
I was not present for the whole match so the Match report is from the skipper, Tris Skinner -
' LCC were asked to bat first as they said they had a weak side.
Logan & Skinner started things off with a 100 partnership and then Logan retired on 62 and Skinner was caught out for 42.
Pearson and Common were then at the crease together and had a near 100 partnership themselves, with Common smashing some big sixes, on his way to 63 and retired (had to beat Logan)
Pearson was SLOWLY edging his way to 50 and he finished unbeaten on 53 when I decided to declare with four overs to spare. (Simon Hobson 2 bowled, Jepson 13 not out)
After teas, we opened the bowling with Superted and Jeppo and both bowled tightly and were rewarded with 5 wickets between them - 3 for Jepson, who had the chance to get a Hattrick...but bowled a wide!
On cam Chowny and Bazza to bowl some spin and they both bowled beautifully with Chowny also getting a chance for hattrick but couldn't get it across the line. Chowny and Barry Lock both finished with 2 wickets each.
Cal came on and took the final wicket.
Skinner taking 2 catches and Si Hobson taking 2 catches - 1 of Hobson's was an absolute blinder!
Great Win and fantastic teas from Dan Common!'
The boys then voted for man of the match and the winner with 7 votes, was Dan Common.
Both Dan and Tris (from last week) were presented their Man of the Match pints by Will at the Hare & Hounds - our sponsor for Man of the Match - all pictures are on news feed via Facebook and Instagram.
We are 2 for 2, what a great start to the season.
This weekend's fixture is postponed so we are on to our next game at home on Sunday 11th May against Linton.
Team details will be out next week.
Have a good bank holiday all
