MONTHLY UPDATE OF GOINGS ON WITH LCC

05 Apr 2025

Good morning all

Just to update you with goings on with the club.

This Sunday 6th April, there is working party to get the club ready for the new season.

First event is next Sunday where we are holding LCC Open Day from 12pm. The aim to entice new

members by coming along and having a go - details on website and social media.

The main aim this season is to gain new members - without players we do not have a club.

The committee has spent a lot of effort in getting this advertised on Facebook and Instagram. If you

are followers, please like and share the links to get this out as far as possible.

We held a committee meeting this week and talked about fundraising. A quiz has been booked for

June and looking at a further one in December - both to be hosted at the Hare & Hounds. Details

to follow soon.

Will and Chantel at Hare and Hounds have agreed to be our man of the match sponsor for this season.

This will be posted on social media and website after each game.

Staying with fundraising, the 100 club draw winners for February and March are now on the website.

One further one requires drawing for March - which will be at the next meeting in April.

We have entered a T20 midweek league - brand new and Tris has been working with other clubs to

make this happen. The games to take place midweek on Wednesday with the finals day on a Friday

at Long Melford CC. All fixtures on the website

If you want to play cricket but cannot commit a whole day at weekends, how about a couple of hours

in the evening? If you haven't played before or not for a long time and want to be involved, please

contact Tris Skinner - club captain.

Finally, the season is due to get underway on Easter Sunday but as we know, this can be a difficult

time to get a team together but if any cancellations happen we will update as soon as possible.

I look forward to seeing you at the working party or open day if you can come along and support.

Thanks

Dave Little
