LCC Fantasy Wk 07 Update

23 May 2022

Good Morning all

Please see attached the LCC Fantasy Update after week 7.

Charlies Anals still topping the leader board at present but still a long way to go. At present, I am

propping up the table and cementing the wooden spoon position!

Below is a summary of the events yesterday.

After Nacton called the game off last week, we were back to playing this weekend against Hadleigh

at Home for a 35 over game. The weather was lovely, the pitch was looking good - we were ready!

Chowny as Captain for the 4th week, lost the toss again........much to Tris' delight!

We were elected to field first.

Logan and Jeppo opened the bowling. Logan kept it tight but no wickets, two maidens. Jeppo also

keeping it tight from the other end and taking 1 wicket and had 3 maidens. After 14 overs, they had 46

runs.

Wellsy and Cal came into the attack. Both had an instant impact and took a wicket in their first over.

Welly ended with 3 wickets, 1 was caught and bowled and even he thought he may drop it after the

batsman skyed it! 3 wickets and 1 maiden for Wellsy

Cal using his swing to effect and ended with 3 wickets - should have been 4 had Wellsy not asked for

the 12 year old to have another go!

It was then Chown and Little to come in and throw a few pies down. Chowny with 2 overs and both

maidens.

I bowled and took a great wicket against a younger player - the wicket Cal never had!

It was a short spell as KP and Minndo saw out the innings - no wickets from their over each.

The target was set - 137

After tea, provided by Minndo, Tris and Logan opened the batting.

They weren't under a huge amount of pressure and Logey raced to get his 50 (52) first ahead of Tris,

even after ripping his nail back whilst fielding. Their skipper was expecting him to retire, to which he

walked off

Tris, a couple of balls later then reached his 50 (53) and also retired.

Weavers and Armour into the attack to see the game out. Weavers bowled by an excellent ball for 1.

Harry was caught out for 1 too! Most of the bottom order had got changed at this point.

KP came in  - couple of boundaries and a single before being given LBW for 9

Minndo and Little were then in the mix and saw the game out - even if I thought Chowny was going to

Catch me out at square leg umpire.

Poor Jeppo waiting on the wings didn't make it in. He had used his whites after a shower and then had

to put them back on.

We finished 137/3 after 18 overs.

The game was won. We watched the footie results come in before a couple of celebratory drinks at

the Hare.

Next week we visit Long Melford on Sunday.

Have a good week all
