LCC FANTASY - WK 10 UPDATE

15 Jun 2022

Good morning all

Sorry for the delayed update, website access issues!

Please see the attached updated spreadsheet following the last weekend's game.

Wellsy with Charlie's Anals still top of the table but his father, Geoff Wells with Mist Rolling 22 chasing

close behind following his double pointer game.

I have left the wooden spoon position.........at least for 1 week!

On Sunday, we travelled to Gestingthorpe following a 2 weeks absence - we lost Melford away due to

weather and Ipswich Knights away on Jubilee weekend due to numbers.

Chowny, following his previous 4 wins, maintained the captaincy. He went for the toss and lost for 5th

game on the bounce. This was a good omen.

We were elected to field first in a 35 over match.

Logan and Jeppo opened the bowling. Very tight opening few overs and both ended up with wickets

Logan, 2 for 20 off 7 and Jeppo 2 for 31 off 7

Dan Common and Cal Waugh were brought on first change. Cal only had one over as wanted to get

him on from the same end as Dan.

Dan had a good spell and got his first wicket of the season finishing 1 for 30 off 7 overs.

Tom Bigg, Weavers friend who helped out finished with 1 for 34 off 7 overs

Cal came on and kept it tight finishing with 1 for 23 off 5 overs

I bowled the last two overs at the over end and ended with 1 for 14

Catches from Chown, Logan, Weavers and Cal from the bowling.

Gestingthorpe finished on 165 for 8 from 35 overs.

After hot dogs and a lovely lemon drizzle cake, it was our turn to bat.

Tris and Logan opened the innings. Both looking very comfortable whilst the rest of us watched on.

Tris eventually departed for 40 being caught on the boundary.

Weavers was next in and had a shorter spell than he would have liked and was bowled for 4.

Bev Gordon, first game back had a fleeting visit but was evident he was struggling with injury

and was out for 6 runs.

Logan still at the crease and was joined by Minndo.

Logan, playing a self described Boycott innings and got his 50 but didn't looked pleased when we

applauded! He finished on 66 not out.

Minndo came in as supporting act and went mad! 4 sixes and 4 fours finishing on 44 not out.

Target achieved with 8 overs to spare.

Victory number 5 from 6 games played and Chowny retaining the captaincy.

We welcome Bures at home this Saturday. We have been short of a few players but will have a team

out and hope the British weather holds out after this mini heatwave.

Hope to see some of you down there.

Have a good rest of the week.

Thanks

Dave
